Some Hot Stove Musings

I am a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Consequently, I am a big fan of Roy Halladay.

This post sums up my feelings about the deplorable lack of care some awards voters demonstrate year-in and year-out.

I will thaw somewhat if they get around to electing Tim Raines to his rightful place in the Hall of Fame sooner rather than later.

A few things:

1) Those two Dice-K votes were obviously BAHSTAHN writers.

2) I'd guess Mussina grabebd a few NY 3rd place votes out of pity.

and most importantly:

3) Doc plays in Toronto, therefore most of the league has NO clue how good he is. I've railed before about how he'd easily have 3 or 4 Cy Youngs if it wasn't for freak injuries and the shitty middle relief of a few years ago. I'm still sure he has all those complete games because he doesn't trust his bullpen (why should he? They keep fucking it up for him).

And I couldn't be happier. He seems to like being only in the Toronto spotlight instead of the League spotlight. I'd love him to be a career Jay.
