Skillz farewell

In what will likely be my last bloggament for a couple of months, I managed to place 3rd in the Skillz game. Many interesting hands were played: I lost a couple of huge key pots late, the one below stands out;

but did manage a couple of notable scoops earlier in the tournament. They more or less speak for themselves.

DQB!

And the standard wheel with nut flush redraw freeroll on the turn.

Preflop, loose but standard shorthanded.

Flop, I think you have two overs. Too easy to checkraise here if you actually hit this flop. I'm not giving up A-high five handed in limit to a blind that donks out on a paired board for one bet. You're not folding anything I need you to muck to a flop raise, so I peel with the intention of bet/raising most turns, which is the way I'd play a pocket pair here as well.

Turn isn't great, but I can rep a pretty wide range (frush, overpair, even AhX) you can't like calling a raise with, unless you actually have AhX or an eight. No threebet, so I might actually be good here. (I prolly throw up and have to fold to a threebet, which can never be a worse hand, while calling myself an idiot for trying this to begin with...)

River is valuejoyjoybet, if you have an eight, oh well, it's only one more bet.

Yeah, it helps that this is limit, and I've got a pretty decent chiplead, so even if you spike on the river I'm just calling one more bet and not completely killing my stack. This would be a pretty tragic line in a NLHE game.

Anyhow, don't be a stranger in the future. See you in 2009?

Sorry to hear we are losing you and heffmike due to school. Maybe I will actually have a shot at cashing in my own tournament now.
