Another Mookie run means another tourney report

Life has been tremendously busy the last few days with family visiting from overseas, and work has been quite hectic as well. So I was glad to finally find the time to sneak in a bloggament.

Unfortunately, my chiplead at the final table didn't hold up as I busted out in 4th place in the Mookie (but with plenty of scalps earned along the way). I'll do a longer recap tomorrow, but for now I'll just put up a couple of screenshots.

And that was one sick bustout hand where I used position and a big flop raise to try to get my opponent to fold ... and failed. K-high busted draw is good. Poor result ... but I got her to put it all in with a bare draw against my range of hands which is way, way ahead ... so I like my play even if it didn't work out. I guess I need to borrow this phrase to summarize my feelings on this.

Full Tilt Poker, NL Hold'em Tournament, 600/1,200 Blinds, 150 Ante, 4 Players

Results: 67,224 Pot
UTG showed K 6 (a pair of Queens) and WON 67,224 (+34,662 NET)

Aggro-donk on Aggro-donk violence is not pretty.

LOLOL. you're right that you have a very wide range, which is why i'm never folding second nut flush draw to you, but i definitely wasn't expecting you to call an utg raise w/ 97s. awesome.

60% of pot = big raise?

Good to now.

lucko, I figured my raise obviously commits my stack to the pot, and it makes my bluff more believable, because that's exactly how I would play my big hands. Shoving looks much weaker to a lot of players ...
